The streets of Cheyenne just got a little safer. After a quarter-century, the trusty old KING-FM van is headed off to the scrapheap.

Arguably the oldest radio station promotional vehicle in the country, the 1993 conversion van has rock and rolled across every corner of the Capital City. The things it has seen...we don't even want to know.

In recent years, the ride got a little rough and safety concerns finally forced it off the road. And even though the window won't roll up, the engine still purrs like a kitten.

While we lay the KING van to rest, its memory lives on in front of the Wyoming State Capitol. One of several historic images on the fence covering the Capitol renovation features a mid-90s era concert in the Depot Plaza. And, of course, the old KING van is parked right next to the stage.
