The last Honor Flight Wyoming took off from Cheyenne Monday. After a farewell ceremony, about 80 World War II veterans left on a chartered plane for Washington D.C. to visit the World War II Memorial as well as the Korean and Vietnam Memorials. Since the first flight in 2009, the group has flown more than 600 Wyoming veterans to Washington D.C. Organizers say this is the last honor flight the group will take, because there are no more veterans in the state who wanted and are physically able to make the journey. A homecoming ceremony for the veterans will be held this evening at about 8:30 p.m. at the Cheyenne Regional Airport.
