It ranked among the sadder days in TV history when we finally said goodbye to Tina Fey's '30 Rock' after seven wonderful years, but our despair may already have been lifted. The former 'SNL' writer and '30 Rock' lead will return to NBC along with '30 Rock' co-showrunner Robert Carlock and writer-producer Colleen McGuinness for a brand-new female-centric workplace comedy, but how involved will Fey actually be?

News of the new NBC sitcom in development comes through Deadline, specifically that Fey and Carlock will executive produce through Universal Television, with McGuinness writing and executive producing. The project will supposedly be developed in the vein of 'Cheers' as a character-driven workplace comedy, where a young woman looking to reconnect with her father finds a new home and family on Fire Island.

This early in the development process however, it remains too early to discover if Fey could potentially appear on the series, or take up any writing duties along the way. The as-yet-untitled comedy also marks the first effort of Fey’s production company "Little Stranger" under the four-year development deal signed with Universal last year.

Well, what say you? Are you excited for Tina Fey and the '30 Rock' crew to have a presence on NBC once more? How would you like to see the project evolve?
