A 31-year-old Cheyenne man pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder in connection with the 2013 shooting death of his wife.

Christopher Town entered the plea Monday before Laramie County District Court Judge Steven Sharpe. Town admitted that he shot 29-year-old Crystal Town in front of the couple's 10-year-old daughter in their home on Magnolia Drive on October 2, 2013.

He had originally been charged with first-degree murder, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge as part of an agreement with prosecutors. He will be sentenced after a pre-sentence investigation, which is expected to take up to four months.
