Thanks to everyone who pitched in for this year's Stuff the Truck for Toys for Tots Drive. Because of your generosity, we set an all time record for donations and 1,000 needy kids here in Cheyenne will have presents under the tree this Christmas.

Of course, this community event wouldn't be possible without the brave men and women from the United States Marine Corps and Navy Reserves.  Over 125 local volunteers helped out this year.

Now comes the fun part.  According to local Toys For Tots organizer Wendy Henderson, they'll start distributing toys to needy families on Monday.  Because of the extraordinary demand this year, they had expected to provide three toys per child.  However, thanks to the generous community support, Wendy estimates each child will receive one or two extra toys this year.  Of course, Toys for Tots also contributes to other local charities.  All told, nearly 1,000 kids here in Cheyenne will have presents under the tree on Christmas because of your support.

We also would like to thank the local businesses who helped support this community wide effort, including #1 Properties, Perkins, Target, Spradley Barr and CBS News Channel 5.
