Sunday drives across The Cowboy State can be pretty cool and the scenery is flat, but intense.

We had our first visit to Burns and Pine Bluffs yesterday and the late-Spring, early-Summer skies were amazing. Yes we stopped in the A&W in Pine Bluffs for root beers. Burns is a small prairie town and the action was at the park where cookouts and people were. The downtown's of these small towns were pretty interesting. No real stores or businesses. Everyone makes the drive to Cheyenne for shopping.

Pine Bluffs, WY is on the Nebraska-Wyoming border and the town is appropriately named. The pine trees on the bluffs or hills above the town are so out of place on the plains. A rest area before you enter town on old US Highway 30/Business Route 80 has trails up to the bluffs.

We have so much to see, just a short drive from Wyoming.
