In October of 1902, America’s newspapers were filled with daily updates on the Tom Horn murder trial in Cheyenne. A 14-year-old boy named Willie Nickel was murdered. The courts said Horn did it. But today many don’t believe Horn was actually guilty of the murder, despite being convicted of it, and eventually hanged for it.

After a new poll of Wyoming residents, asking if they believe Horn was guilty, the answer is no.

Also in the trial, Horn's “confession” was said to be alcohol induced. People also alleged perjury. An ambitious district attorney and judge were also up for re-election.

After 115 years, there are even more questions about Tom's guilt here.

Today, most Wyomingites do not believe Tom Horn should have been hanged for murder. When asked about that, here’s what today's Wyoming generation said.

No. ................................. 73.08 Percent

I don't know. ................... 19.23 Percent
