Here's some discouraging news for Wyoming football fans. Coming off a disappointing 2-10 season, Coach Craig Bohl's latest recruiting class was ranked among the worst in the country by Scout.com.

According to the website, the class was rated two on a scale of one to five, placing 117th out of 129 programs in the country and last in the conference.

Wyoming isn't the only Mountain West team that's had difficulty on the recruiting trail. Of the 11 major conferences, the latest Mountain West class ranked eighth. Boise State was the only school to finish in the top 50, placing 48th.

Scout.com projects that Colorado State will have the second-best recruiting class in the Mountain West, 64th nationally.

Of the 12 universities in the conference, only Air Force and Wyoming's latest classes were ranked outside of the top 100, with the Falcons placing 101st in the country.

Of course, those projections won't matter if the young class of new Pokes can outperform their expectations on the field. Here's hoping they'll be able to defy the scouts and turn the program around.

One encouraging sign for the future is the development of running back Brian Hill. Like many players in this year's class, Hill wasn't considered a prized recruit coming out of high school. However, last season he was an All-Mountain West Conference selection as a sophomore, setting the Wyoming single-season rushing record with 1,631 yards.
