Celebrate Wyoming Military Kids on Purple Up Day

To help show support and thanks to military children for their own sacrifices and the strength they show in their daily life, the UW Extension encourages individuals and businesses to celebrate Purple Up Day on Friday, April 15. Don your favorite purple shirt, tie, or accessory, and celebrate the children who stand beside their military parents.

Event Schedule

The Wyoming National Guard Child and Youth Program will host a tie-dye party Thursday, April 14, in order to prepare for Purple Up Day. The tie-dye event occurs from 6-8 pm at the AGO Gym in Cheyenne.

Laramie County 4-H and the Wyoming National Guard will also be hosting a carnival for families from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 21, in the ANB Bank Leadership Center at Laramie County Community College. There will be plenty of food, games, and entertainment for the whole family! They will have a medical helicopter will be on display in the parking lot for attendees to explore.

Additionally, 4-H clubs around the state have the opportunity to take part in a service project for the troops. The project consists of comic strips wrapped around candy bars that will be donated to military families at the end of April as a thank you for their sacrifice and service.
