Laramie County voters head to the polls today (Tuesday) to choose from six Republican candidates vying for the three open seats on the Laramie County Board of Commissioners.

Incumbents Linda Heath and Troy Thompson are hoping to keep their seats, but face opposition from former commissioner M. Lee Hasenauer and newcomers Gunnar Malm, Tom Scranton and Boyd Wiggam.

The top three Republicans will face off against Lee Filer, the lone Democrat in the race, in the Nov. 6 general election.

Democratic commissioner Ron Kailey announced in April that he would not be seeking re-election.

Republican commissioners Amber Ash and Buck Holmes were re-elected to four-year terms in 2016.
