Cheyenne’s Downtown Development Authority needs a new leader. The job was posted when Amy Surdam resigned January 15th. The DDA hopes for someone with experience to be in place by April, and we have 5 suggestions.

That's after our first choice, Coach Craig Bohl.  As huge Pokes fans, however, we don't want him leaving his main job, though he could crush this gig. He could lead anything.

Here are 5 suggestions for who might just rock downtown Cheyenne:

5. Former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn. Who better than the General to make everyone feels protected and safe downtown - if he doesn't have other fish to fry.

4. Councilman Richard Johnson. He's a character at times, but some think of him as the one who already runs Cheyenne anyway. Those supporting weed legalization would back Richard.

3. Major General Anthony Cotton. The first black commander of a city over 3,000 population, aka Warren Air Force Base, could surely handle downtown Cheyenne.

2. Affie Ellis. Being a lobbyist at the State Capitol was a good start for Marian Orr, and she is off to a great start as Cheyenne's mayor. Let's ask Affie if a 38-year-old female Native American might want to apply.

1. Alf. The co-founder of Thankful Thursdays who has worked hard for many great Southeast Wyoming causes. If he raised over a million dollars, imagine what he could do for the DDA.

If you have others you would highly recommend, just drop names in the comment section to the far right on the bar just below here ( ).
