The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has issued Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories for some areas of southeastern and south-central Wyoming.

Snow accumulations are possible, especially at higher elevations.

As of 8 am on Sunday, Cheyenne and Laramie were not included in the warning or advisory areas.

The agency posted this statement on its website:

''A cold front is expected to move through the area Sunday bringing rain showers, snow in the mountain zones, and colder temperatures through the region. Should begin to see rain transition towards snow through the day on Sunday into Sunday evening as the colder temperatures move further eastward. Best potential for higher snowfall accumulations will remain along Carbon County, portions of Albany County, and western Converse County where Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect. Winds will not be particularly strong, but gusts up to 25 MPH on Sunday could lead to some modest blowing snow, especially near Arlington. Those with travel plans, be sure to dial 511 or visit wyoroad.info for all road condition updates.''
