I honestly wouldn't mind having my own theater, pandemic or not.

Gosh, I love the movies. I love the big screen, the booming surround sound, the buttery popcorn and ice cold fountain coke. Oh, and you always have to finish with something chocolately. I don't however, love the people. I don't love screaming children, people who use their phone throughout the entire movie, or that person who continuously kicks the back of my seat.

But when that theater is empty because it's a matinee and the movie has been out for over a month... Oh, I'm a happy camper.

Alamo Drafthouse recently announced that they are doing private theater rentals. This means, you get the theater to yourself or you can share it with whoever you deem quiet enough to join you. They're not just catering to stick-in-the-mud people like me, they're also doing this because of the pandemic. Many people would probably feel more comfortable watching a movie surrounded by people they know and whom they know are not sick.

The program is called "Your Own Private Alamo" and it's not exactly cheap, but if you get enough people to join you, it will be well worth it.

First you book your sport on their website. Right now the only locations that are offering in this service are the Denver, Colorado and Austin, Texas locations. Screening room rentals are $150 and you must spend at least $150 on food. You can also invite up to 30 people to join you and guests can all choose their own seat when purchasing a ticket.

You will also select the movie you want to watch from the following:
Abominable
Despicable Me
Despicable Me 3
