Alzheimer’s Advocacy Day At Wyoming Legislature Thursday
The Alzheimer's Association of Wyoming will hold an Alzheimer's Advocacy Day at the Wyoming State Legislature on Feb. 16.
Association Executive Director Janet Lewis says the main purpose of the event is to update lawmakers on the development of the state's developing Alzheimer's Plan.
Governor Matt Mead announced the plan about a year ago, and Lewis says the work continues
The plan will try to identify the resources available to victim's of Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers, as well as what can be done to improve those resources. A series of town meetings are planned later this year on the plan.
Lewis says the other purpose for Thursday's event is to raise awareness of the disease in Wyoming as well as the Alzheimer's Association.
