There really is nothing like Thanksgiving Day.

Here in Buffalo, some wake up super early to participate in the Turkey Trot, before heading over to the convention center on Franklin Street. Then maybe hit up a bar before going back home to get ready for Thanksgiving turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes.

Or you could just get up and watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, before focusing all your attention on the three NFL games, starting with the Detroit Lions 12:30 pm game. Oh yeah, family and dinner too.

The Buffalo Bills will once again participate on Thanksgiving Day again, which is the third time in four years the Bills have played on Turkey Day.

It's an interesting scenario for Bills fans. Some love it, while others hate it because it means they have to focus attention on their favorite team, instead of totally relaxing.

I felt that frustration in 2019 but now I have completely bought in to loving the Bills being involved on this holiday.

Did you also know the Bills have a chance to make Thanksgiving Day history in the NFL?

Since the NFL introduced a third Thanksgiving Day game (the night game), no team has ever won on all three timeslots. Some teams have won twice and obviously, the Lions and Dallas Cowboys have won in their slots. But no team has ever won all three slots.

The Bills could accomplish that this Thursday afternoon against the Lions at Ford Field. They won last year in the night game (New Orleans Saints) and in 2019 in the 4:30 pm timeslot (Dallas Cowboys).

The first night game on Thanksgiving was played between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs, which was won by Kansas City and aired on The NFL Network.

The last time the Lions won on Thanksgiving was 2016 and the last time the Bills played against Detroit on Turkey Day was back in 1994; a game the Bills lost by a score of 35-21.
