Casper College Dean Named As New Eastern Wyoming College President
Eastern Wyoming College's board of trustees has named Dr. Lesley Travers of Casper as its new president, according to a news release from the college Thursday.
"This is the realization of a huge dream and I am humbled and honored to be chosen as Eastern Wyoming College’s President," Travers said in the prepared statement.
Travers begins her job July 1.
“Thank you for placing your trust and faith in me as President and I look forward to getting to know the college community, the Torrington community and the six counties and outreach centers that we provide services to in Wyoming. I am looking forward to this wonderful opportunity and cannot wait to see the challenges that lie ahead,” she said.
The college -- with campuses in Torrington and Douglas -- hired Gold Hills Associates, which selected six finalists.

She has owned and operated a consulting, meditation and private practice, and was a treatment coordinator at Community Alternatives of Casper from 2001 to 2002
She received a bachelor of arts in psychology with a minor Native American studies from the University of Montana; a master of science in community counseling from the University of Wyoming/Casper College; and a doctorate in higher education and marriage and family therapy from the University of Wyoming, where she was a graduate assistant.
Travers has served as an officer for the Brain Injury Association of Wyoming, JETS Technology, Northern Arapaho Trust and Wyoming Senior Citizens, Inc.
