Casper Man Arrested for Discharging Firearm in Trailer Park
A Casper man is accused of firing a handgun outside of his trailer while intoxicated.
Edward Dean Rogers was arrested for discharging a firearm, public intoxication and possession of marijuana.
According to an arrest affidavit, police were called to a Casper trailer park at 9:18 p.m. Monday after receiving a report of shots being fired. When officers arrived, they were advised that Rogers was intoxicated and had barricaded himself inside his trailer.
As officers continued arriving on the scene, they observed Rogers exit his trailer and begin shouting nonsensically.
When police attempted to make contact with Rogers, he retreated back into his residence and turned all the lights off.
Police began evacuating nearby homes. Numerous neighbors reported hearing Rogers fire a pistol but they were unsure of what he was firing at.
After about 10 minutes, Rogers opened his door and exited his residence. He was arrested without incident.
A search of Rogers' trailer yielded a .357 revolver, .22 caliber rifle and pieces of a shotgun. Police also located several pipes and bongs used for smoking marijuana.
