The Cheyenne East girls soccer team has endured some tough losses in the young season but found some spark in the 2nd half on Saturday afternoon to down Sheridan 3-1 to earn their first win of the year. Sheridan notched a first-half goal from Emma Prior and then Tayler Miller of Cheyenne East went to work. She tied the game at 1 all with a goal in the 41st minute and added a 2nd one in the 72nd minute to give the Thunderbirds a 2-1 lead. Makensie Sherard came though with a long, lofty shot that found the back of the net to increase the lead to 3-1.

So the T-Birds are 1-3 on the season but it was an important win for the team in light of the fact that they missed the entire 2020 season due to the pandemic. After the match, we caught up with Tayler Miller and MaKensie Sherard to talk about their victory and the road going forward.
