Cheyenne East Races by Campbell County to Get to 4A Semi-Finals
Cheyenne East is still a formidable opponent, even after losing starting quarterback Gavin Goff to a knee injury last month that put him out for the season. His replacement, Camden Hayes had a field day against the Campbell County defense as he threw for over 300 yards and 3 TDs to Garet Schlabs. Those two hooked up twice for scores in the 2nd quarter and Cade Pugh also added a touchdown. He rushed for over 130 yards in the game.
The Camels did produce a couple of 4th quarter touchdowns as quarterback Mason Drube threw strikes to Jace Walker and Jeff Pelton. Drube threw for over 300 yards but turnovers were a big bugaboo for the Camels. This team did show remarkable improvement from a year ago and finished the season 4-6.
Cheyenne East is 8-2 and they'll travel to Rock Springs for the 4A semi-finals on Friday night. Be sure and check out the photos we have from Trenda Allen in our gallery. Enjoy!
