Labor Day may be considered the unofficial start of fall by many people, but the weather on Monday around southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle was very Summer-like.

The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service posted this statement and graphic on its Facebook page

''The Labor Day Heat caused temperatures to soar today, and several record high temperatures occurred as the result! It was HOT out there! Cheyenne, Laramie, Rawlins, and Scottsbluff all broke their previous record high temperatures on Monday. A brief cool down is in sight beginning tomorrow! #wywx #newx

As mentioned in a previous FB post: Cheyenne tied the all-time record high temperature for the month of September today of 95 degrees!"
