Several communities in eastern Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle recorded record high temperatures for August 19 on Monday, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

According to the agency, record highs for the date were recorded in Cheyenne, Laramie, Torrington, and Douglas Wyoming as well as Sidney, Nebraska. The agency posted this statement on its website:

''Who forgot to turn the furnace down earlier today because it was HOT HOT HOT?!?! Here are the record high temperatures recorded on Monday, August 19th! Cheyenne, Douglas, Laramie, and Torrington all broke their previous record high temperatures on Monday. Sidney tied their record high temperature as well! A cool down is in sight beginning on Wednesday, which will be long overdue!"
