A 50-year-old Cheyenne man awaiting sentencing on misdemeanor charges including voyeurism and possession of meth is facing new charges after allegedly burglarizing a pickup.

Court records say police were called to the Walmart at 580 Livingston Avenue on Aug. 14 after Lester Brown, Jr. reportedly broke into a pickup in the parking lot.

Police say Brown -- who admitted to the crime -- broke into the pickup through the driver's side rear quarter window and removed a plastic taillight cover and a Futaba 6X Super 6 Channel Radio Control System from inside the pickup.

The items were found lying next to the pickup, according to an affidavit.

Brown was arrested after attempting to flee police and charged with burglary, misdemeanor property destruction and resisting arrest. If convicted on all three counts, he could face up to 11-and-a-half years in prison.

Brown is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $3,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 23 at 9 a.m.
