Cheyenne Man Pleads Not Guilty in Fatal Stabbing
A 20-year-old Cheyenne man has pleaded not guilty to charges alleging he fatally stabbed a man in the heart and attempted to kill another man.
Vincent A. Ramirez entered the plea during his arraignment Friday morning in Laramie County District Court.
Ramirez is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Ian Dangler and the attempted second-degree murder of 20-year-old Camilo Olivas. Both counts carry a sentence of 20 years to life in prison.
Ramirez is accused of stabbing Dangler and Olivas with a three to four-inch pocket knife after getting into a fist fight with them over his ex-girlfriend, Destany Gonzales, on July 12.
Ramirez remains jailed on a $500,000 cash bond. His trial is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 13.
