Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr Proclaims March 2 Thankful Thursday
By the end of our last Thankful Thursday series, our intrepid group of do-gooders had raised over a $$$1 MILLION $$$ dollars for deserving locals and their wonderful life improving causes.
These are funds that go to support local charities that make Cheyenne better for us all. In recognition of that, Mayor Orr issued this City Of Cheyenne Proclamation:
It says:
WHEREAS, Thankful Thursday began in February of 2010, and
WHEREAS, Thankful Thursday won the 2016 Wyoming Association Of Broadcasters Award for the state’s “Best Public Service”; and
WHEREAS, Thankful Thursday supports the community one charity at a time; and
WHEREAS, Thankful Thursday has since grown to become one of the biggest fundraisers in Cheyenne; and
WHEREAS, Thankful Thursday has raised over $1 million dollars to help benefit over 40 different charities in Laramie County.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Marian J. Orr, Mayor of the City of Cheyenne, do hereby proclaim March 2, 2017, as
Thankful Thursday.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Cheyenne to be affixed this 2nd day of March, 2017
