With the inevitable arrival of old man winter in southeast Wyoming probably not far away, the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is reminding people about the warnings that are used in regard to cold weather and storms.

The agency released this statement this week on its website:

With ongoing winter weather possible this weekend across the northwestern part of Wyoming, we figured even in the midst of fall to provide a little winter weather refresher. Take the time to refamiliarize yourself with our common terms for winter weather headlines and get that winter emergency kit put together before that first snowflake falls.
