Cheyenne NWS: Expect Stormy Friday, Nicer Saturday
While so far the agency is not expecting any severe weather, some storms could feature brief heavy rain and some gusty winds.
The agency posted this statement on its website:
Patchy fog will continue early this morning, mainly across east central Wyoming and the northern Nebraska Panhandle including Douglas, Chadron, Alliance, and Scottsbluff. Some clearing can be expected by mid to late morning, but clouds will rapidly increase again through the afternoon and evening. Showers and thunderstorms will become quite numerous today, with a 40 to 60 percent chance for precipitation for all areas. Organized severe weather is unlikely. However, some storms may contain brief heavy downpours and gusty winds in excess of 50 MPH.
But the weather service says the weather should be nicer on Saturday:
Here's a look at your weekend forecast! Another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms is possible Friday afternoon and evening. Storms may contain gusty winds and small hail. Saturday looks like the best day of the weekend with warm temperatures and mostly sunny skies. Storm chances return once again on Sunday.
