Cheyenne Police Warn of Phone Scam​

If you get a call from someone asking you to donate to the Cheyenne Police Department, just hang up.

Police say it's a scam, and they will not solicit donations from anyone over the phone.

"People shouldn't be receiving a phone call from us asking for money," said Officer Kevin Malatesta. "We don't raise funds in that way."

Folks should also be aware that most reputable organizations will not randomly contact people over the phone asking for money.
