A 33-year-old Cheyenne transient is facing charges after allegedly choking and punching his ex-girlfriend before stealing her wallet.

According to an affidavit, Mark Jensen entered the woman's home on March 24, grabbed her by the throat and punched her repeatedly in the head and face.

Jensen then reportedly took the woman's wallet, which contained approximately $300, and left with it.

He was arrested on March 29 and charged with strangulation, first offense domestic battery and misdemeanor theft.  If convicted, he could face up to 11 years in prison.

Jensen is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond.  His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 11 at 10 a.m.
