Spring is in the air, and so are the birds. Warmer weather in the local area is encouraging migratory flocks to return...which makes it a prime time to learn about birding. The Cheyenne High Plains Audubon Society (CHPAS) will host a Spring bird class at the Paul Smith Children's Village.

Birder Dennis Saville will teach a beginner or "refresher" course for their annual Spring birding class. This year CHPAS is partnering with the Paul Smith Children's Village at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens located at 710 S. Lions Park Drive.

Students will be able to walk out of the classroom and into "the field" to view local birds. Children accompanied by adults are welcome as well. There will be no registration fee this year, and you can choose to attend one or both of the offered classes.

The bird class will be held Thursday, April 24 from 4 - 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 from 1 - 2:30 p.m.

Please register ahead of time by either calling the Children's Village at 307-637-6349 or Dennis Saville at 307-632-1602.

Happy Birding!
