Collins Sought for Hammer Attack

[/caption]Cheyenne Police are looking for Robert Collins, a transient known to inhabit the Cheyenne area, for attempted second degree murder charges. Police Spokesman Lew Simpson says Collins is alleged to have attacked and beaten his girlfriend with a hammer on June 29th, sending her to the hospital. Collins, a 53 year old black man, is known to frequent Lincoln Park, Martin Luther King Jr. Park and the city bus station in western Cheyenne. He often goes by the nickname ”Jamaica” , according to Simpson.

Police say he is considered armed and dangerous and add anyone who thinks they have spotted Collins should not approach him, but should contact Cheyenne Police immediately.
