University of Wyoming head football coach Craig Bohl revealed his latest recruiting class Wednesday that features 24 new additions to the Cowboys roster.

The head coach joined ‘Laramie Live on KOWB’ Thursday and provided insight into how it all came together; how last season played a big role; why he’s excited about these recruits; and so much more.

The class has 23 high school players and one graduate transfer. There are 12 offensive recruits, nine on defense, an athlete and two specialists.

The Cowboys signed players from the West Coast through the Rockies and all the way to the Midwest. UW signed six players from Illinois, five from California and three from Nebraska. Colorado, Ohio, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin were also represented.

Wyoming also signed lineman Logan Harris from Torrington. The two-time Casper Star Tribune Super 25 selection was the first commit for the Pokes in this class.

Seven recruits were recognized with three-star ratings. They are corner C.J. Coldon, defensive lineman Gavin Dunayski, linebacker Ryan Gatoloai-Faupula, defensive end Victor Jones, receiver Jared Scott, quarterback Tyler Vander Waal and offensive tackle Alonzo Velazquez.

The only transfer in this year’s recruiting class is a long snapper Kolton Donovan, who is coming to UW from Southern Utah University with one year of eligibility.

Rivals.com rated Wyoming’s class 96th in the country and 11th in the Mountain West.

In the interview Coach Bohl reminded fans that they look more at the “right fit,” than what a player is rated.
