Evansville Man Killed In I-80 Crash
A 77-year-old Evansville man is dead after the vehicle he was driving rear-ended a U-Haul truck and trailer at the Point of Rocks interchange Wednesday evening.
Wyoming Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Steve Townsend says troopers were already looking for a 1999 Ford Escort driven by Bobbe Foreman of Evansville. They found it after it collided with a loaded car trailer being pulled by a Ford E-450 U-Haul.
Foreman's vehicle had been reported for speeding and other traffic offenses. 50-year-old Katherine Fonseca, who was driving the U-Haul and car trailer, was able to drive to the shoulder of the highway following the collision. Neither she nor her passenger were injured.
The crash occured slightly before 9 p.m.
Foreman was life-flighted to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, where he later died. Townsend says excessive speed and impaired driving are being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
