Federal Jury Convicts Woman in Wyoming Medicaid Fraud Schemes
A federal jury in Wyoming has convicted a 64-year-old Oelrichs, South Dakota woman for Medicaid fraud, Acting U.S. Attorney Bob Murray announced Thursday.
Holli Telford Lundahl was found guilty of three counts of health care fraud and two counts of aggravated identity theft.
Lundahl was indicted on the charges in March 2020 which included three overlapping schemes to defraud Wyoming Medicaid by submitting false claims for long-term care provided to Lundahl's sister, and the unlawful possession and use of identity information of her niece and a young woman in furtherance of two of the schemes.
"I applaud my litigation team, the court and the Wyoming Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for stopping this blatant abuse of the system," said Murray.
"Identifying and preventing Medicaid fraud continues to be one of our highest priorities and we remain steadfast in ensuring that Medicaid dollars are preserved for those who most need them," Murray added.
Lundahl's sentencing is scheduled for July 12 in Cheyenne. She's facing anywhere from two to 34 years in prison.
