The first baby of 2016 was born at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center this morning, according to CRMC spokeswoman Kathy Baker.

Her father Matt said he is “ecstatic” about having a little girl. “Everybody thinks they have the cutest baby,” he said. “But to actually have the cutest baby is something else.”

Esther Rose was born to Matt and Melissa (they prefer not to share their last name at this time). Esther Rose was born at 8:16 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2016.

She weighs 7 pounds, 15.9 ounces and is 20 inches long. The parents and baby are all doing well, according to Baker.
