Four Cheyenne Prep Basketball Teams Qualify For State

March Madness isn't just for the NCAA, Wyoming high school teams are into the post-season, too.

Four Cheyenne high school hoops teams qualified for this week's state tournament in Casper.

Cheyenne East's boys team edged Cheyenne Central in the third place game, but both qualified. Meanwhile, the East ladies finished second at the regional event in Gillette last weekend, after only losing to the homestanding Lady Camels. Cheyenne Central topped Laramie for third place.

The first round state championship games are Thursday, March 9. All 4A games will be played at Casper College Thursday, and the Events Center Friday.

First Round Schedule:

9:00 a.m. Central girls Vs. Natrona

1:30 p.m.  Central boys Vs.  Kelly Walsh

4:30 p.m. East girls vs. Evanston 

7:30 p.m. East boys Vs.  Rock Springs
