In what will likely become an annual event, Edge Fest, a free outdoor music festival, kicks off this Friday, September 18th on the west edge of downtown Cheyenne. There will be live music from Luna Rae at 6, Grace Askew at 6:40 and at 8:00, Midas Whale, featuring former Cheyenne resident Ryan Hayes and Jon Peters who together gained national recognition on NBC’s show The Voice.

Cheyenne’s West Edge district combines elements of the city’s rail-centric industrial history with the new, i.e. the Laramie County Library, Saint Mary’s School, The Wyoming Tribune Eagle’s building, the Dineen building and more. The West Edge district hopes to cultivate "a persona that’s poised to create a welcoming and inclusive community focused on life, art, music and food."

This inaugural festival starts at 5:30 Friday afternoon in the parking lot across from the Asher Building at 500 W. 15th St.. In addition to the music, local food trucks will be available along with beer and wine for sale.

Admission is free. More is available on their website.
