Guns N’ Roses To Invade U.S. Clubs
Nearly a quarter of a century after they staged their fan favorite ‘Live at the Ritz’ concert, Guns N’ Roses are set to return to the renowned New York City theater as part of a six-date jaunt through the Northeast that will also take them into Maryland, New Jersey, and Illinois.
GNR will return to the Ritz — now known as Webster Hall — on Feb. 15, with plans to “reclaim” the venue with vintage Ritz signage. It’ll be one of three Guns shows to take place in the Big Apple this February, with the band also scheduled to make its first-ever appearances at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom (Feb. 10) and Terminal 5 (Feb. 12). In addition, Axl Rose and company will perform intimate gigs in Chicago, Silver Spring, Md., and Atlantic City, N.J.
The dates come following the conclusion of Guns N’ Roses’ successful 2011 tour, which took the band around the world over more than 30 shows, including sold-out appearances in the U.S. and Latin America. Unlike those arena dates, the club shows will showcase the band in more intimate settings — including their return to the Ritz, the site of a heavily bootlegged 1988 concert aired on MTV (and later released on DVD).
Tickets for Guns’ New York dates will go on presale tomorrow (Jan. 31) at 10 AM EST, with general sale opening up Wednesday (Feb. 1). Presale for the rest of the tour begins Wednesday, with seats becoming available to the general public on Friday (Feb. 3). Tickets and VIP packages will also be sold through the band’s site.
