Hey, Cheyenne! Get a Free Car Seat, Safety Check This Saturday

The Wyoming Highway Patrol and Laramie County Fire District #2 will be hosting a free car seat safety check event in Cheyenne this Saturday, Dec. 17.

The event will take place at Laramie County Fire District #2, located at 410 Horse Creek Road, from 10 a.m. to noon.

"Child seats will be available at no cost on a limited basis," said Sgt. Jeremy Beck.

"Troopers and firefighters will also check for proper installation if you currently have a child seat but need clarification on whether it is installed correctly," Beck added.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 59% of car seats are not installed correctly.
