Homeless Man Charged in Pipe Attack at Cheyenne Park
A 29-year-old transient could face up to 10 years in prison after allegedly beating a man with a pipe, sending him to the hospital.
When police arrived, a bloody Jenkins was lying on a picnic table getting medical attention from fire department personnel.
Several witnesses told police that McBryar -- who'd been drinking -- hit Jenkins in the head with a rock and then started hitting him with a pipe. The pipe eventually broke and McBryar ran away.
Jenkins was taken to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center with a deep cut on his ear, scrapes on his face and a swollen black eye. He also had bruises on his back and arms consistent with the size of the pipe that was collected from the scene, according to police.
McBryar was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery-bodily injury with a weapon.
McBryar is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $1,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 26 at 11 a.m.
