Freaks and geeks, rejoice. Cheyenne is getting its own Comic Con. Yesterday, organizers announced the inaugural Cheyenne Comic Con, a three day event to be held May 13th - 15th at the Little America Resort.

The first Comic-Con was held 45 years ago in San Diego. What began as a small comic book convention eventually grew in popularity and has since become a pop culture phenomenon. In recent years, promoters have launched similar events in cities across the country.

Cheyenne's first Comic Con will be held just over a month before the popular Denver Comic Con. The event draws thousands of visitors, many dressed in elaborate costumes, to the Mile High City each June. Fort Collins also hosts an annual Comic Con event in the fall.

Passes for Cheyenne Comic Con will range in price from $20 for the cheapest one-day admission up to $65 for VIP tickets, which organizers say will include early access to the event on all three days. For more information on the inaugural event, visit the official C3 website.
