The Laramie County Sheriff's Department will donate 2 dozen lap quilts made by female Laramie County jail inmates to Needs Inc. on Monday.

The inmates donated their time and used materials given to them by Needs. The cloth patches came from clothes or blankets that were not usable as a whole but still had usable potions intact that were combined with other materials to make the quilts.

The inmate quilts are only the latest in a series of quilt donations made to Needs by a number of local organizations since the program was launched in 2013.

Needs Director Barb Fecht and Laramie County Sheriff's Deputy Rick Watson originally started the program, which is designed to help people in need in the community.
