IRS Offers Free Tax Filing
Internal Revenue Service spokeswoman Karen Connelly says there are opportunities to file your taxes for free this year.
People who make $58,000 or less, which includes about 70 percent of taxpayers, can use software available on the agency's website. Anyone who made more than $58,000 last year can still file for free using the agency's free file tax forms.
Taxpayers can use the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program that is available in many communities. More information on the VITA program, as well as other information on filing your taxes, is available on the website.
