Is Wyoming’s Favorite Condiment Even Considered a Condiment?
Tell us if you think this item falls into the condiment category.
One of the things that I love about summer is grilling. You can put just about anything on the grill. My favorite, is a classic burger with the perfect amount of char and extra cheese. It's heaven! I usually don't put condiments like mustard or ketchup on my burgers, but sometimes you just can't resist adding in an extra layer of flavor.
Ever wonder which condiment is Wyoming's favorite?
Luckily, we don't have to wonder very long as Mental Floss has answered that question for us. They put together a list of the Most Popular Condiment in Each State. Some of the items on the list are standard condiments like ketchup and mustard. However, the definition of condiment is "something used to give a special flavor to food, as mustard, ketchup, salt, or spices", so I guess our favorite item technically makes the cut.
On the list, Skippy Super Chunky Peanut Butter is the most popular condiment in our state. It's hard for me to wrap my head around this one because I consider this a food item, not just a flavor enhancer. A couple of scoops of peanut butter can be considered a meal if I'm in a hurry.
