LARAMIE -- Frank Crum was all smiles -- and hair -- after Wyoming's annual NFL Pro Day last Tuesday in Laramie.

Of course, these workouts are old news for the Cowboys' 6-foot-8, 313-pound left tackle.

He competed at the NFL Combine two weeks ago in Indianapolis. There he ran a 4.94 40-yard dash. The Laramie product also benched 225 pounds 22 times (he bettered that by five on Tuesday) and added a 9-foot-6 broad jump to go along with a 31.5" vertical jump.

Those numbers were all impressive, tops among offensive linemen inside Lucas Oil Stadium. The rave on social media, however, was all about Crum's hairdo -- or "lettuce" -- as they called it on NFL Network.

"My hair is gaining some traction," he said with a smile, referring to his curly, blonde mullet. "There have been some doubters -- it is real. The curls are natural. This isn't permed or anything."

While Crum said he doesn't know how to feel about "going viral" on the internet, he is thrilled the spotlight was on his hometown, school and teammates.

"I think it's cool to have as many NFL teams that we can out at Wyoming and for all the guys," he said. "They're going to look at one guy, they're going to look at everybody. So, yeah, it's important for all of them. It's not about me, at the end of the day, bringing these (scouts) in, you know? They were here to see everybody."

Crum remembers when he came to the Cowboys' pro day to see one guy -- Josh Allen.

He was a senior at Laramie High School and the NFL world was camped out inside the indoor practice facility. Allen's workout was broadcast on network television, but Crum wanted a firsthand look at the talented gunslinger.

It was a short-lived, yet memorable, experience.

"I kind of had to sneak in here because they made it, like, semi-private," Crum joked about that spring day back in 2017. "I tried to get in and I ended up getting kicked out pretty quick. We played hooky, I'm pretty sure, that day."

Ten Wyoming players -- Crum, along with QB Andre Peasley, Tight ends Treyton Welch and Colin O'Brien, wideout Ayir Asante, cornerbacks Jakorey Hawkins and Deron Harrell, defensive tackle Cole Godbout, linebacker Easton Gibbs and punter Clayton Stewart -- all participated Tuesday in front of personnel from 26 different NFL franchises.

The NFL Draft will take place in Detroit from April 25-27.
