A Rare High Elevation Castle Is Here In Wyoming
Who wouldn't want to live in a castle?
Did you know you could live in a castle and still live in Wyoming?
Some people may claim that western Wyoming isn't like the rest of the state, and those people would be correct. It's not because some refer to that part of the state as California East, but there are many reasons it's different.
There are two National Parks (Yellowstone and Grand Teton), multiple large mountain ranges, some of the prettiest views in the world, and a castle.
Bedford Castle was built at 6,500 feet, making it one of the highest-elevation castles in the world.
Think about all of the famous castles in the world.
- Palace of Versailles in France
- Kumamoto Castle in Japan
- Edinburgh Castle in Scotland
- Windsor Castle in England
The problem is that your chance of moving into those castles is slim.
I'd rather have a castle on a mountain in Western Wyoming than any of those castles if it were me.
The Bedford Castle is spectacular.
Designed after Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany and towering high above the nearby forest, its base sits at over 6500' above sea level in the rocky mountains of the United States of America. Over a million bricks make up the facade, and the top turret is over 100 feet tall. The roof is made of copper and was built to last over 300 years. Can you guess where this castle is in the United States?
If you've never seen it, watch this video tour. You'll be able to see every aspect, from the rooms to the tunnel system and even the private forest.
