Sewer Construction Closes Interstate 25 Again, Expect Delays And Detours
It looks like I-25 will close again this weekend so crews can continue work in the current construction zone. The work is a continuation of last weekend's closure, when crews ran sewer lines across the road. The closure will begin around 7 pm Saturday and reopen around 4 pm Sunday.
During this time, Beverly Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Southbound interstate traffic will not be able to turn left onto Beverly Street. Northbound interstate traffic will not be able to turn left onto Beverly Street.
If you're heading northbound toward Kaycee, exit at the Bryan Stock Trail/Beverly exit and head up Bryan Stock to Amoco Road, then re-enter I-25 at the Shoshoni Bypass and continue north.
If you're heading southbound toward Glenrock, exit at Bryan Stock Trail/ Beverly and re-enter at the Yellowstone Highway on-ramp.
If you can avoid this area during the closure period, I would. When you're driving through the construction zone during the day, it's a little easier to navigate. If you have any issues seeing at night, it can be a little bit confusing and raise your anxiety a bit.
There will be flaggers and traffic control during this period, but if you have to drive through, use extreme caution and pay attention to avoid making the situation more dangerous than it already is.
There's no word on whether or when the next I-25 closure will occur, but you can bet that before the project is completed in a couple of years, there will be plenty more.
