Chancey Williams Performs At Wyoming Cowboys Kickoff Concert

Take a deep breath, in through your nose and out through your mouth. Do you smell it? The smell of the University of Wyoming Football is in the air! The Pokes have put in hard pre-season work, and they're ready to kick off the 2026 season this Saturday in Fort Collins for the Border War with Colorado State.

It's exciting, and we're all pumped for the season, but you should be REALLY pumped for the next weekend when the Cowboys will welcome the Northern Colorado Bears for their home-opening weekend. The game is set for 2 pm on Saturday, September 12th, but kickoff begins Friday, September 11, with Chancey Williams taking the stage at Fraternity and Sorority Mall for the FREE Cowboy Kickoff Concert.

The evening will bring high energy with local food trucks, beer gardens, live music, and, to top it off, a 3D drone show that will light up the Laramie night sky. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. with music beginning around 7:20 p.m.

This year’s free concert is open to the public and will bring together the University of Wyoming community to celebrate the start of the new academic year and the first home football game of the season.

If you've ever seen Chancey in concert, you know how high-energy, fun, and full of surprises they are, but being a UW graduate, a Wyomingite, and loving the Pokes, you know Chancey is going to pull out all of the stops for this show.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert Gagliardi, Jared Newland, Ryan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
