The Most Dangerous Campsite In Wyoming
Never trust any article about your state written by somebody who has never even visited.
I just found an article about the most dangerous places to camp in each state.
For Wyoming, the author chose YELLOWSTONE!
Dead wrong.
Here is what was said:
The park's beauty comes with significant dangers, including risks of heat stroke, dehydration, and even fatal encounters with bison.
These high-risk factors should not be underestimated when visiting this beautiful national park.
In 2024, a visitor had to be partially driven out of the park after burning his feet on the scorching sand, as helicopters were unable to land due to the extreme heat. (MoveItApp).
Yellowstone is only dangerous if you're STUPID!
Just stay on marked trails, heed the warning signs, and don't pet the fluffy cows.
Trust me when I say, I've traveled Wyoming and camped in many places. I can show you sites far more dangerous than Yellowstone.
What if we rate parks for the difficulty level for tourists, based on their outdoor experiences?
Someone from a major city who has never been to a wilderness area should avoid the following places - and list them.
Then we should have them watch this Hank Patterson video on Surviving Yellowstone.
Someone with a high level of rugged camping experience could visit places that would kill most city folk.
We could even enforce rules based on what level of outdoorsmen they are.
Someone who is level 10 should only visit Wyoming's tourist shops and museums.
A level 1 tourist can go naked rock climbing into a bear's den.
Let's think about this. I might be on to something.
