A Wyoming man is dead after crashing his motorcycle west of Cheyenne, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.
The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, April 5 near milepost 15 on Happy Jack Road, about a mile west of the Bunkhouse Bar and Grill or nine miles east of Curt Gowdy State Park.
Speed, Possible Medical Condition May Be to Blame for Fatal Motorcycle Crash
According to a fatality crash summary, 66-year-old Carl Gilman was riding west when he went off the right side of the road, down the embankment, and along the right-of-way fence.
Gilman's Harley-Davidson eventually tripped, rolled, and went airborne over the fence, and he was thrown from his bike.
Gilman was not wearing a helmet and died from his injuries.
The summary lists speed and a possible medical condition as possible contributing factors.
Gilman is the 17th reported person to die on Wyoming's highways so far this year.
