Cheyenne Man Busted With Cocaine After Allegedly Speeding Drunk
A 44-year-old Cheyenne man is facing charges after he was reportedly caught speeding while drunk and found to have a felony amount of cocaine on him.
Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Arrest
According to a booking sheet, Dwane Allen Flagg Jr. was stopped in the 1500 block of East 18th Street at about 1:11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, after a Laramie County Sheriff's deputy clocked him doing 38 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone.

The deputy says Flagg did poorly on standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI, and when they searched him, they found 13.2 grams of cocaine on him.
Flagg was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center and subsequently charged with felony possession of cocaine, a crime punishable by up to seven years in prison, up to a $15,000 fine, or both, as well as two misdemeanors, including DUI - second offense and speeding.
Initial Court Appearance
The following afternoon, Aug. 29, Flagg was seen in Laramie County Circuit Court in front of Judge Sean C. Chambers on the charges.
Chambers appointed Flagg a public defender and asked for the state's bond recommendation.
"Mr. Flagg has an extensive criminal history," the state said. "A DUI in 2020 as well as one in 2011 ... a driving under suspension in 2002, a violation of a protection order in 2015, and bond violations in 2016 and '17."
"(This gives) the state concerns on whether Mr. Flagg can comply with court orders," the state added, recommending a $2,000 cash bond.
Out on Bond
Chambers adopted the state's recommendation and Flagg later posted bond.
Flagg is scheduled to be back in Circuit Court for his preliminary hearing on Friday, Sept. 5, at 9 a.m.
Please remember that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
